Southern Yellow-cheeked Gibbon (Nomascus gabriellae) Only found in mixed forest with bamboo of Viet Nam and Cambodia; - Black with reddish- yellow cheeks; adult females and infants are yellow, no tail, long arms; - The gibbon family sing along in the “morning song” are unmistakable and resonate in the forest at sunrise. The song in the dryseason can travel over 3km thourgh the forest, alerting all neighbours of where their family is and the forest they will defend to keep as their home; - Golden - cheeked Gibbons stay with their mother and father for up to 10 years. As they slowly grow and are educated on how be a gibbon and the foods they can eat in the wet and dry season. Gibbons can travel up to 55km/h.
