The Bar-bellied Pitta (Hydrornis elliotii) inhabits dense tropical forests across Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam, showing green on the back, bold striping and a black mask; the male bears aquamarine and purplish-blue patches, while the female appears plainer, foraging methodically for insects on the forest floor, breeding from April to June and remaining classified as Least Concern.
