Photography Adventure (04 days)

Indulge your passion for nature and scientific research of forest creatures at Dong Nai Culture & Nature Reserve. The Reserve, located 100 km (about 3 hours’ drive) from Ho Chi Minh City (Tan Son Nhat Airport) is home to over 284 bird species.

Day 01: Dong Nai Culture & Nature Reserve

Full Day: Target bird species for photography include the Indochinese Green Magpie, Blue-rumped Pitta, Silver-breasted, Black and Red, Dusky, and Banded Broadbill, Banded Kingfisher, Scaly-crowned and Abbott’s and Buff-breasted and Puff-throated Babblers, Common Flameback, Laced Woodpecker, Lesser Yellownape, Orange-breasted Trogon, Streak-eared, Black-headed, Sooty-headed, and Grey-eyed Bulbuls, Racket-tailed Treepie, White-throated Rock Thrush, Hainan Blue Flycatcher, Yellow-vented, Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker, Ochraceous and Black-crested, and Stripe-throated Bulbuls.

Evening: Depart from Vinh Cuu and drive to Tan Phu Forest (approximately 100 km by car) for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Tan Phu Forest

Tan Phu Forest is located in the southeast of Vietnam and boasts over 170 bird species.

Morning: Trek through the forest in search of birds. Target species include Bar-bellied and Blue-rumped Pittas, Orange-necked and Green-legged (Scaly-breasted) Partridge, Black-backed Kingfisher, Indochinese Green Magpie, Black-backed Kingfisher, Indochinese Blue Flycatcher, Laced and Gray-headed Woodpeckers, Grey-faced Tit Babbler, Ochraceous, Grey-eyed, Black-crested, and Black-headed Bulbuls, and other Babblers.

Evening: Travel from Tan Phu to Cat Tien National Park (approximately 60 km by car) for another overnight stay.

Cat Tien National Park is the largest remaining lowland forest in Vietnam and covers an area of 820 km². The park is one of the best photography destinations in the country to observe native plants, birds, and animals. .

Day 03: Cat Tien National Park

Target birds include Germain’s Peacock Pheasant, Siamese Fireback, Green-legged Partridge, Bar-Bellied Pitta, Blue-rumped Pitta, Blue-winged Pitta Green Peafowl, White-rumped Shama, Lagre Scimitar Babbler, Indochinese Blue Flycatcher, Siberian Blue Robin, Black and Buff  Woodpecker…and more.

Day 04: Farewell!

Morning: Wildlife highlights include Green Peafowl, Woolly-necked Stork, Red Breasted Parakeet, Chinese Francolin, Oriental Pied Hornbill, Lesser Adiutant Stork, Red-wattled Lapwing; Grey-capped Pygmy and Rufous Woodpecker.

With Vietnature Tours, you’ll have the opportunity to spot primates like the Golden Cheeked Gibbon, Black-shanked Douc Langur, and Macaques, as well as deer, gaurs, snakes, lizards, and other wildlife. The best time for  photography is between December and April.

* Dalat plateau (Lien Khuong airpost, Dalat city);

* Beach of Mui Ne (Phan Thiet province), Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa province), Baria (Vung Tau province).
