Cat Tien Wild Gibbon Tour:  The tour is limited to a maximum of five participants, ensuring a personalised and intimate wildlife experience. Whether you are a wildlife enthusiast or a nature lover, this excursion offers a rewarding and memorable opportunity to explore one of Vietnam’s most biodiverse regions.

Wild gibbon tour provides a unique chance to observe the endangered Yellow-cheeked Gibbon in its natural habitat within Cat Tien National Park’s evergreen and semi-deciduous forests. Beginning early at 4:45 a.m., participants trek through the forest, guided by the distinctive and melodious calls of the gibbons.

The approximately 2.5-hour trek not only offers excellent opportunities to observe these remarkable primates but also the possibility of encountering other wildlife species, including Black-shanked Douc Langurs, Pig-tailed Macaques, Eastern Striped Squirrels, Pallas’s Squirrels, and Malayan Colugos (Flying Lemurs), among many others.

Night Safari tour: The tour departs every evening at 6:30 p.m. in an open-sided safari vehicle and covers a total distance of approximately 12 km in about one hour. Visitors will be taken by a guide through the park’s extensive grasslands, which provide ideal habitat for a variety of mammals. During the excursion, guests may observe deer, porcupines, hares, civets, and other nocturnal wildlife as they forage for food after dark. Depending on the season, weather conditions, and a measure of good fortune, visitors may also encounter herds of Gaur, the world’s largest wild cattle species, renowned for their impressive size and magnificent wild appearance.

Crocodile Lake (Bàu Sấu) tour: According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the Siamese crocodile was considered extinct in the wild in Vietnam by 1992. In 2000, Cát Tiên National Park launched the Freshwater Crocodile Restoration Project to conserve this species and restore the ecological balance of its wetland habitats. With support from both Vietnamese and international scientists, the project identified genetically pure Siamese crocodiles from breeding facilities, conducted genetic assessments, and reintroduced more than 60 individuals into Bàu Sấu.

Today, the population has grown to more than 500 Siamese crocodiles, making the programme one of Vietnam’s most significant conservation success stories. Crocodile Lake remains the country’s only known natural habitat supporting a wild population of Siamese crocodiles. With 14-km excursion (9 km by vehicle or bicycle and 5 km on foot) takes visitors through a variety of forest habitats, offering opportunities to observe a remarkable diversity of wildlife. Mammals that may be encountered include the Critically Endangered Black-shanked Douc Langur, Annamese Silvered Langur, Southern Yellow-cheeked Gibbon, Gaur, and several deer species. Notable birds include the Great Hornbill, Siamese Fireback, Bar-bellied Pitta, and Black-and-red Broadbill. The area is also rich in reptiles, insects, fungi, and plants.

The trail culminates at Crocodile Lake, a Ramsar-listed wetland covering approximately 100–150 hectares during the dry season and expanding to more than 2,500 hectares in the rainy season. Here, visitors can observe Siamese crocodiles, waterbirds as Cotton Pygmy Goose, Asian Woolly-necked Stork, Bronze-winged Jacana… and other wildlife in their natural environment, making Bàu Sấu one of the most rewarding wildlife-viewing destinations in Vietnam.

Đảo Tiên Endangered Primate Rescue Centre: Dao Tien Island is located approximately 10 minutes by boat along the Dong Nai River from the main headquarters of Cat Tien National Park. The centre is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. During a short guided walk of approximately 3 km along a paved road through the tranquil 56-hectare forest, visitors will learn about the centre’s vital conservation work and have the opportunity to observe endangered primates, including Black-shanked Doucs, Silvered Langurs, Yellow-cheeked Gibbons, and Pygmy Slow Lorises.

Cát Tiên Wild Tours – Your Gateway to Responsible Eco-Tourism

Cát Tiên National Park is more than a protected forest—it is a place where nature speaks and people listen.

“For over 22 years, I have lived and worked in Cát Tiên. I have walked with village elders, shared stories with forest rangers, and collaborated with scientists and conservation organisations dedicated to protecting this land. Many travellers come for the wildlife and birds—and stay for the peace. Some remain for weeks, unable to leave. What makes Cát Tiên unforgettable is its biodiversity, the serenity of untouched ecosystems, and the quiet joy of being part of something wild and timeless.” Mr Nguyễn Lương Dũng, VIETNATURE
