Vietnam is recognised as one of the most biologically diverse countries in Southeast Asia, boasting exceptional ecosystems that range from tropical rainforests and wetlands to coastal mangroves and highland plateaus. The country is home to 11 UNESCO-designated World Biosphere Reserves, highlighting Vietnam’s global importance for biodiversity conservation, wildlife protection, and sustainable development.

In addition to its natural wealth, Vietnam is a culturally rich nation where 54 ethnic minority groups live alongside one another, each preserving distinctive traditions, languages, and ancestral knowledge. This remarkable diversity of ethnic heritage and cultural identity forms an integral part of Vietnam’s natural landscape and long-standing relationship between people and nature.

VIETNATURE is driven by the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to experience, understand, and connect with Vietnam’s wildlife and natural environments. Through long-term fieldwork and research, we systematically document bird species, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, plants, fungi, butterflies, insects, and natural habitats, as well as ongoing ecological and conservation research activities. All records are supported by high-quality photographs and carefully curated into thematic image albums, creating an accessible and educational resource for nature lovers, researchers, wildlife photographers, and conservation professionals interested in Vietnam’s biodiversity.
