Embark on an easy, refreshing trek through lush greenery, tranquil landscapes, and vibrant wildlife. Day 1: Trekking and night safari adventure
Morning: Begin your journey with a 4-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh city to Cat Tien national park, passing through the scenic La Nga fishing village, Da Ba Chong rock formation, and the Teak (Tectona grandis) forest. Or travel from Da Lat city to Cát Tiên National Park, descending from the cool Central Highlands into the lush lowlands of southern Vietnam. The drive takes approximately 5 to 6 hours, winding through verdant hills and rural landscapes.
02:30 PM: Embark on a 6 km (2 hours) trek through the tropical forest, discovering the diverse ecosystem. Encounter ancient trees, including the Tung tree (Tetrameles nudiflora), Thien Tue tree (Cycas inermis), and Giant Crepe-Myrtle (Lagerstroemia speciosa). Spot vibrant wildlife such as Parakeets, Hornbills, Partridges, and Pittas while resting at the tranquil Ben Cu rapid
06:30 PM: As dusk settles over Cat Tien National Park, the rainforest comes alive with a captivating chorus of nocturnal sounds and hidden wildlife. Guided by an experienced naturalist, venture along forest roads using spotlights to search for elusive mammals such as Sambar Deer, Red Muntjac, Wild Boar, civets, Fishing Cats, porcupines, and, with a little luck, the endangered Southern Pygmy Loris and Gaur. Enjoy a one-hour night wildlife tour in a specially designed safari vehicle, offering excellent opportunities to observe nocturnal species, including owls, frogmouths, and nightjars as they become active after dark. Every excursion is unique, providing authentic encounters with free-ranging wildlife in their natural habitat. This responsible night safari offers an unforgettable opportunity to experience Vietnam’s tropical rainforest from an entirely new perspective.
Day 2: DaoTien endangered primate species centre
06:00: Take a short walk around the park headquarters at sunrise for the opportunity to observe a family of wild Southern Yellow-cheeked Gibbon. Afterwards, enjoy breakfast at Cat Tien National Park.
08:30 AM: Dao Tien Island is located approximately 10 minutes by boat along the Dong Nai River from the main headquarters of Cat Tien National Park. The centre is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. During a short guided walk of approximately 02 km along a paved road through the tranquil 56-hectare forest, visitors will learn about the centre’s vital conservation work and have the opportunity to observe endangered primates, including Black-shanked Doucs, Silvered Langurs, Southern Yellow-cheeked Gibbon, and Pygmy Slow Lorises.
