Tour schedule
Day 1: Green Peafowl in Cat Tien National park
08:30 AM: Travel from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai Forest (175 km / 3.5 hours)
15:00 PM – 18:30 PM – Birdwatching for Green Peafowl (Pavo muticus), Woolly-necked Stork, Green Imperial Pigeon, Red-breasted Parakeet, Chinese Francolin, and Hornbills followed by owls and nightjars (20 km / 4 hours)
Day 2: Pittas and Pheasants in Cat Tien National park
06:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Bird hide session with Bar-bellied Pitta, Blue-rumped Pitta, White-rumped Shama, Germain’s Peacock-Pheasant (Polyplectron germaini), Siamese Fireback (Lophura diardi), and Green-legged Partridge (3 km / 4 hours)
15:00 PM – 18:30 PM: Birding and wildlife watching, including woodpeckers, broadbills, langurs, gibbons, Asian Brown Flycatcher, as well as owls and frogmouths (18 km / 4 hours)

15:00 PM – 18:30 PM: Explore birding opportunities accessible inside the park. Several species of woodpeckers can be found such as White-bellied, Great Slaty, Pale-headed, Heart-spotted, Black and Buff, Laced, Grey-capped, Pygmy, and Rufous. Other target species include Grey-headed Fish-eagle, Chestnut-headed Bee-eater, Dollarbird, Indian Roller, Banded kingfisher, Great Hornbill, Great Flameback, Greater Yellownape, and occasionally the Red-headed Trogon.
Evening Birding Highlights: Great Eared & Large-tailed Nightjar, Asian Barred Owlet, Collared Scops & Brown Hawk Owl, Javan Frogmouth And many more nocturnal species.
Day 3: Broadbill Birding in Cat Tien national park
06:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Before leaving, enjoy a morning birding session and spot: Banded Broadbill, Black and red Broadbill; Thick-billed Green Pigeon, White-browed Piculet, Collared Falconet, Blue-bearded Bee-eater, Lesser Yellownape, Little Spiderhunter, Crimson Sunbird & Olive-backed Sunbird, Eurasian Hoopoe & Black-hooded Oriole.

Near-endemic species include Green Peafowl, Germain’s Peacock-Pheasant, Siamese Fireback, Green-legged Partridge, Orange-necked Partridge, Chinese Francolin, Bar-bellied Pitta, Blue-rumped Pitta, Gray-faced Tit-Babbler, and Indochinese Babbler.
Several woodpecker species can be found, including White-bellied Woodpecker, Great Slaty Woodpecker, Pale-headed Woodpecker, Heart-spotted Woodpecker, Black-and-buff Woodpecker, Laced Woodpecker, Grey-capped Pygmy Woodpecker, Rufous Woodpecker, White-browed Piculet, Great Flameback, Greater Yellownape, and Lesser Yellownape.

Visitors also have the opportunity to observe several beautiful and critically endangered primates, including Black-shanked Douc Langur, Yellow-cheeked Gibbon, Annamese Silvered Langur, and Southern Pygmy Loris. Mammal sightings may include Sambar Deer, Gaur, Red Muntjac, Lesser Oriental Chevrotain, Wild Boar, Common Palm Civet, Small Indian Civet, Yellow-throated Marten, Large-toothed Ferret-Badger, Black Giant Squirrel, and Sunda Flying Lemur.
