👣Tour Schedule Overview
Vietnam is host to the largest selection of mammals of any Southeast Asian country which are critically endangered, little-known, and almost impossible to see. Among them are more than 25 species of primates. Fortunately, Vietnam’s protected areas support populations of all of these unique primate and animal species.
Day 1: Trekking & Night Safari
4:30 PM – Short jungle trek and forest exploration
6:30 PM – Night safari to observe nocturnal wildlife
Day 2: Wild Gibbon & Crocodile Lake Adventure
4:30 AM – 7:30 AM – Early morning gibbon tour
8:30 AM – 4:00 PM – Crocodile Lake trek and biodiversity discovery
Day 3: Endangered primate recue center & River Cruise
8:00 AM – 10:30 AM – Visit Dao Tien endangered primate recue center
4:30 PM – 6:00 PM – Sunset boat tour on the Đồng Nai River
Day 4: Nature and wildfife in vietnam
7:30 AM – Through ancient Lagerstroemia and evergreen woods
12:30 PM – Departure from Cát Tiên National Park
👣 Detailed Itinerary
The best time for a wildlife tour in Vietnam is generally the dry season, from November to April, when clear weather brings out many animals, including birds and primates, and makes viewing easier. However, late spring to early autumn (May-September) is better for observing amphibians, reptiles, and insects, as they are more active during the warmer, wetter months
Day 1: Trekking & Night Safari
Begin your journey with a scenic 3.5-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City to Cát Tiên National Park.
7:00 AM – Leave Ho Chi Minh City
2:30 PM – Forest trek featuring towering trees like Tetrameles nudiflora and Lagerstroemia speciosa, plus sightings of parakeets and hornbills
6:30 PM – Night safari with chances to spot Sambar Deer, Barking Deer, Wild Boar, Civet Cats, and Porcupines
Day 2: Gibbon Trek & Crocodile Lake
4:45 AM – 7:30 AM – Follow the calls of Golden-Cheeked Gibbons on a 6 km trek through evergreen forest
Possible sightings: Black-Shanked Douc Langurs, Pig-Tailed Macaques, Malayan Flying Lemurs, Eastern Striped & Pallas’ Squirrels
8:30 AM – 4:00 PM – Jeep or bike ride (9 km) followed by a 5 km trek to Crocodile Lake
Wildlife: Siamese Crocodiles, Orange-Breasted Trogons, Purple Swamphens, Bronze-Winged Jacanas, Ospreys, Great Hornbills, Pittas, and more
Flora: Afzelia xylocarpa, Sterculia lychnophora, Elephant-ear Plants
Day 3: Endangered primate recue center & River Cruise
8:00 AM – 10:00 AM – Visit Dao Tien endangered primate recue center to learn about conservation of Black-Shanked Doucs, Silvered Langurs, Golden-Cheeked Gibbons, and Pygmy Lorises
4:30 PM – 6:00 PM – Sunset boat ride on the Đồng Nai River
Bird sightings: Oriental-Pied Hornbill, Racket-Tailed Treepie, Ashy Drongo, Common & Pied Kingfisher, Little Egrets, Great Egrets, Chinese Pond-Herons, Black-Crowned Night Herons, and seasonal Stork-Billed Kingfishers
Day 4: Nature and wildfife in vietnam
7:30 AM – Car/bike through ancient Lagerstroemia forest and semi-evergreen woods
Wildlife: Parrots, Hornbills, Woodpeckers, Peacocks, and primates
Atmosphere: Fresh air, birdsong, and serene jungle landscapes
12:30 PM – Depart Cát Tiên National Park
