Photograph more than 120–180 bird species during the tour (season dependent). Visit the renowned bird photography hides of Ma Da Forest. Explore Cat Tien National Park, one of Vietnam’s premier birding destinations. Photograph several of Vietnam’s near-endemic bird species. Tour schedule

Day 1: Broadbills Photography in Ma Da bird hide

Morning: A car will pick you up at Tan Son Nhat Airport  or Hotel, approximately 100 km  2 hours’ driver from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai Culture and Nature Reserve 

Photograph a superb variety of forest birds, including Indochinese Green Magpie, Bar-bellied, Silver-breasted and Black-and-Red and Banded Broadbill, Grey-eyed Bulbul, Racket-tailed Treepie, White-throated Rock Thrush, Hainan Blue and Indochinese Blue Flycatcher, Yellow-vented and Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker, Orchraeous, Bulbul, Black-crested Bulbul, and Stripe-throated Bulbul.

Later afternoon:  to the Hotel

Day 2: Kingfishers & Forest Birds in Ma Da bird hide

Morning: From a Hotel to Bird hide in Ma da forest. Spend the morning at specialised kingfisher hides, photographing species such as Banded Kingfisher, Oriental Dwarf-Kingfisher, Grey-faced Tit-Babbler, Scaly-crowned Babbler, Abbott’s Babbler, Buff-breasted Babbler, Puff-throated Babbler, Common and Greated Flameback, Laced Woodpecker, Lesser Yellownape, Red headed and Orange-breasted Trogon, Streak-eared Bulbul, Black-headed Bulbul, Sooty-headed Bulbul.

Noon time: Departure from Mada-Dongnai forest to Cattien national park (about 120km/ driver 03 hours). Check into your lodge before heading into the park for an evening wildlife excursion. Lunch on the way to Cattien 

Afternoon: Green Peafowl and Hornbills – Birdwatching in Cattien National park

15:00 – 18:30 PM: Travel 20 km through the grasslands and open forest searching for target birds and wildlife Green Peafowl, Chinese Francolin, Parakeets and Hornbills and Mammals such as Deer, Deer, Gaurs and Civets

Day 03: Pittas & Pheasants Photography

06:30 – 11:00 AM – Pittas – Birdphotography. Enjoy a morning birding session (bird hide spot) Bar-bellied Pitta,  Blue-rumped Pitta, Bulbuls and then walking around for birdwatching..

14:30 – 18:00 PM: Observation (bird hide spot) take photos Germain’s Peacock-Pheasant, Siamese Fireback, Green-legged Partridge and then walking around for birdwatching.

Day 04: Woodpeckers & Forest Specialities

06:30 – 11:00 AM – Enjoy a morning birding several species of woodpeckers can be found such as White-bellied, Great Slaty, Pale-headed, Heart-spotted, Black and Buff, Laced, and  Banded kingfisher, Sunbirds, Pigeons and more

12:30 PM: Goodbye and see you again.

Included: Transport to and from Ma Da – Cat Tien National Park by private car, Professional English-speaking bird guide, National Park entrance fees, Bird hide in Ma Da and Cat Tien, Park transportation, Three night’s accommodation, Meals and Bottled drinking water and insect repellent spray.

The tour offers opportunities to observe a variety of birds and species in their natural habitat

Near-endemic birds include Germain’s Peacock-Pheasant, Orange-necked Partridge, Bar-bellied Pitta, Blue-rumped Pitta, Grey-faced Tit-Babbler, and Indochinese Babbler. The forests support an impressive diversity of woodpeckers, including White-bellied Woodpecker, Great Slaty Woodpecker, Pale-headed Woodpecker, Heart-spotted Woodpecker, Black-and-buff Woodpecker, Laced Woodpecker, Grey-capped Pygmy Woodpecker, Rufous Woodpecker, White-browed Piculet, Great Flameback, Greater Yellownape, and Lesser Yellownape. After dusk, the forests come alive with nocturnal species such as Great Eared Nightjar, Large-tailed Nightjar, Asian Barred Owlet, Collared Scops Owl, Brown Hawk-Owl, Javan Frogmouth, and many others. Other target birds include Green Peafowl, Chinese Francolin, Siamese Fireback, Green-legged Partridge, Indochinese Green Magpie, Grey-headed Fish Eagle, Collared Falconet, Great Hornbill, Oriental Pied Hornbill, Black-and-red Broadbill, Banded Broadbill, Dusky Broadbill, Silver-breasted Broadbill, Woolly-necked Stork, Lesser Adjutant, Orange-breasted Trogon, Red-headed Trogon, Banded Kingfisher, Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher, Blue-bearded Bee-eater, Black-hooded Oriole, Red-breasted Parakeet, Little Spiderhunter, Crimson Sunbird, and Olive-backed Sunbird. The area also offers outstanding opportunities to observe mammals, including several globally threatened primates such as Black-shanked Douc Langur, Yellow-cheeked Gibbon, Annamese Silvered Langur, and Southern Pygmy Loris. Other mammals may include Sambar Deer, Northern Red Muntjac, Gaur, Lesser Oriental Chevrotain, Wild Boar, Common Palm Civet, Small Indian Civet, Yellow-throated Marten, Large-toothed Ferret-badger, Black Giant Squirrel, and Sunda Flying Lemur (Colugo).
